Network engineers can apply for positions in cloud-based automation systems, such as network appliances, storage, or cloud computing, as well as network automation projects, and get a job within three months, according to Microsoft.
The new hiring guidelines apply to a broader range of roles, including network engineers, network engineers in customer-facing roles, network engineering engineers, and network engineers working in the cloud.
The company will use a variety of criteria to identify and hire network engineers to fill its positions, including education, experience, skills, and other qualities, as Microsoft described in a blog post.
The post includes job descriptions for each role, and details how to apply.
If you are interested in applying for the role, you’ll need to fill out the online application and pay a $30 application fee.
Microsoft said the hiring guidelines are based on the following criteria: A degree or professional certification in network engineering or computer science, including a master’s or doctoral degree from a college, university, or technical school; A minimum of 15 years of experience in the field; and You have demonstrated leadership in developing and implementing the best-practice network engineering and network automation solutions for businesses, enterprises, and government.

The hiring guidelines also include instructions on how to submit your resume and cover letter, and an explanation of the process for the position.
If Microsoft’s job requirements match your qualifications, you may be contacted by an employment representative for a formal interview.
The online application process will take about 15 minutes, Microsoft said.
Microsoft did not say when the new guidelines will be published, and it was not immediately clear when the job openings will open.
The news comes as Microsoft continues to add jobs to its cloud workforce, including the recent addition of more than 30 new network engineers.
Microsoft previously announced plans to add a new type of network engineer position to the ranks of its cloud services in March.
